An Untraditional Dolce Vita Wedding in Rome

Liza & Colton Elopement in Rome

Picture this: the enchanting love story of Liza and Colton unfolds against the dreamy backdrop of Rome, and we’re here to spill the beans on this magical escapade! As the lucky photographers documenting their journey, let us whisk you away into the heart of their untraditional Dolce Vita wedding.

In the early morning glow, when the city was still stretching in its slumber, Liza and Colton said their “I dos” at the Pantheon. This ancient marvel served as the perfect stage for the grand overture of their commitment. With Rome draped in dawn’s tranquility, the couple had the entire city to themselves – a rare and intimate canvas for their love story to unfold. But that was just the tip of the gelato cone! The adventure continued as they sauntered through historic streets, capturing the essence of Rome’s rich history. From the iconic Trevi Fountain, where they indulged in a Roman breakfast with maritozzi (a classic sweet pastry, traditionally packed full of whipped cream, read more here ✌️), to the eternal charm of the Spanish Steps and Via Condotti, each step was a celebration of love, laughter, and the irresistible Dolce Vita vibe.

As photographers, we couldn’t help but be swept away by the beauty of their joy against the stunning backdrop of Rome. The empty streets of the early morning became our playground, a canvas to paint their story with the colors of love. Liza and Colton’s decision to break free from tradition and dive headfirst into the Dolce Vita spirit resulted in a wedding day that felt like a fairy tale dipped in espresso.

Their love story, woven into the tapestry of this ancient city, is not just a celebration of their union but a love letter to Rome itself.

The Significance of Having a Plan B

When we met Liza and Colton, their immediate wish was to celebrate their wedding in Rome, specifically exchanging vows against the breathtaking backdrop of the Trevi Fountain. For those considering a similar ceremony, here’s a bold piece of advice: always have a Plan B, and think of an alternative. On the morning of the big day, not even 5 a.m. yet, with the sun yet to rise, we arrived at the fountain only to find an extraordinary cleaning operation underway, organized by the city of Rome. Moreover, the area around the fountain was cordoned off, making it impossible to hold the wedding there. Luckily, anticipating such possibilities and being in Rome, a true open-air museum, we swiftly activated Plan B – the Pantheon. This incredible square, an expansive space that transforms with the colors of the dawn every minute, was a bold stroke of luck for us, completely deserted at that early hour. Things don’t always go as planned, but the key is to be prepared and keep an open mind!

They Took Our Breath way

” I can’t express enough how phenomenal Emanuele and Frederica were in every aspect! From beginning to end they were wonderful every step of the way. They made the elopement process seamlessly easy and FUN, it took all the worry and stress off my mind! Their warmth, kindness, and lighthearted fun personalities helped us feel so comfortable in our moment, and in front of the camera, it was as if we had two more friends joining our day. Their work speaks for itself, but WOW. We were truly jaw-dropped by the photos when we got them back, they took our breath away. They captured our true personalities perfectly while simultaneously making us look like models out of a bridal magazine, I couldn’t believe it! The photos truly embodied the spirit of the day, and when viewing them I felt transported right back to that moment and got choked up all over again. They went so above and beyond, even sending us a list of must-try restaurants & foods in the area, and on the wedding day, after hours of picture taking (that flew by!) sitting down with us to a lunch where we talked and laughed, and by the end felt like we weren’t with our photographers, but our friends. I am forever grateful to have found this team, our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them. I will (and already have) sing their praises and recommend them to anyone in the wedding/elopement process! “
